Tutor Appreciation Month: CBSS
Not every student comes from the same academic, social, or economic background.
“Ms. Ames”, as Columbia Basin Secondary staff and student body have come to nickname her, has been a tutor in the school for 3 years now. Seeing her interact with 7th and 8th graders during the day is comparable to watching a brain surgeon or any other skilled professional at work. The priority as a tutor, to instruct and demonstrate proper academic success is crucial, yet not half as crucial as teaching pure logic and reasoning. Ms. Ames recognizes the need, throughout her years, not only as tutor, but as a mother, to foster stability academically, socially, as well as mentally.
Not every student comes from the same academic, social, or economic background.
“You can never judge a person from the outside alone.” says Ames.
“The many achievements that the students make during the school year are extremely impressive. They should be so proud of themselves!”
