Student Programs

Changing Lives

WSU's Early Outreach program involves a variety of innovative partnerships and initiatives to reach, motivate, and educate secondary school students from across Washington State. Early Outreach programs are intended to assist and encourage students from non-traditional backgrounds to enter and succeed in higher education. Targeted schools include both low income and rural districts. Early Outreach programs are open to ALL students in the schools the program serves. (For more information about how Early Outreach programs may benefit you, see the individual program links.)

GEAR UP Partnerships (Harvest of Hope, One Vision)

Education beyond high school is absolutely critical for young people today. GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) helps students and families to understand how to prepare and plan for admission to a college or university after high school.

WSU Tri-Cities Latina/o Outreach (Pre-College Outreach)

Providing early outreach and recruiting to Latina/o students and families across Eastern Washington. Washington State University Tri-Cities is actively seeking to increase it's Latina/o student representation to better reflect the population of it's service area.

Upward Bound (Yakima Valley, Columbia Basin)

Washington State University Upward Bound is a project designed to provide educational assistance and support to eligible high school students to complete high school and continue on to college. Students accepted into the project will receive academic support, tutoring, mentoring career exploration, counseling, and the opportunity to participate in the summer program at WSU Pullman.
